My Brothers,

As I begin my service as your Worshipful Master for the 2026–2027 Masonic year, I do so with a grateful and humbled heart. Thank you for the trust you have placed in me to continue leading this great Lodge. It is an honor I hold deeply, and one I will strive each day to be worthy of.

Before we look ahead, it is only fitting that we pause to recognize the strong foundation upon which we stand. I offer my sincere and heartfelt thanks to Past Master David Berndt for his unselfish devotion and outstanding leadership during the 2025–2026 Masonic year. Through his steady hand, commitment, and vision, Rosenberg Lodge was brought to higher heights—and we are all better for his labor.

As many of you already know, I am a huge fan of Star Wars, and I’ve often found that even within its stories are lessons that echo truths we hold dear in Masonry. Near the end of his journey, Yoda reflects with quiet acceptance, “Twilight is upon me, and soon, night must fall. That is the way of things.” In another moment of wisdom, he reminds us, “Always in motion is the future.”

Together, these words carry a powerful message.

Time moves forward—whether we are ready or not. The future is never promised, and while we hope for many tomorrows, the truth is we are only ever given today. The question, then, is simple:

How are we choosing to live it?

Not in grand or distant ambitions, but in the quiet, meaningful actions of each day:

• Reaching out to a Brother just to check on him

• Offering kindness when it is unexpected

• Being fully present for our families, our Lodge, and our community

These small moments are not small at all—they are the very things that shape our character and define our legacy.

Our Craft calls us to more than words. It calls us to serve—willingly, humbly, and without expectation. In that service, we find purpose. We bring light where it is needed. And we strengthen the bonds that unite us as Brothers.

At the center of it all is Brotherly Love—not merely spoken, but lived. It is found in patience, in understanding, and in standing together, especially when it matters most.

So, my Brothers, as we begin this new Masonic year, I offer this simple challenge:

Live each day with intention.
Serve with sincerity.
Care deeply for one another.
And never take for granted the time we are given.

Because one day, as we all know, twilight will come.

And when it does, may we look back not with regret, but with quiet satisfaction—knowing we lived with purpose, served faithfully, and upheld the principles we so proudly profess.

Until that day, let us move forward together—united in purpose, strong in our bond, and committed to leaving Rosenberg Lodge even better for those who will follow.

Keep your lamps trimmed and burning brightly, my Brothers. This is the Way.

Brethren,

I want to begin by expressing my sincere gratitude to all of you for trusting me to take the reins as Secretary of Rosenberg Lodge No. 881. It is a distinct honor to serve our Lodge in this capacity, and I am fully committed to keeping our administrative foundation strong so that our focus can remain on the great work of Freemasonry.

A Lodge thrives only through the dedication, participation, and presence of its members. I want to personally encourage each of you to be active, attend our meetings, and engage with the ongoing life of our Lodge. Your presence on the sidelines and your fellowship in the dining hall are what make our Fraternity so special.

That same spirit of fellowship extends beyond our own doors. We are incredibly fortunate to be part of such a vibrant Masonic community in this district, and I strongly encourage you to travel and support our neighboring Brethren at Morton Lodge No. 72 and Sugar Land Lodge No. 1141. There is excellent degree work happening this month, and your support would be greatly appreciated by the candidates and the conferring Lodges alike.

Please mark your calendars for these important upcoming dates:

• Thursday, July 16th: Morton Lodge will confer a Fellowcraft Degree by courtesy for Garden Oaks Lodge.

• Tuesday, July 21st: Rosenberg's next Stated Meeting. We hope to see a packed Lodge room and all of our Brethren there!

• Saturday, July 25th: Sugar Land Lodge will confer three Fellowcraft Degrees by dispensation at Morton Lodge.

Let us continue to work together, support one another, and keep the light of Masonry burning bright in our community. I look forward to seeing you all at our Stated Meeting on the 21st.
