If it has been a while since you last sat with us in Lodge, I warmly encourage you to return. Our bonds are strengthened when we meet, share fellowship, and continue the work together. Your presence matters—to the Lodge and to the Craft.
Please mark three important October dates. First, on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., Rosenberg Lodge will host the Joint Special Ladies & Past Masters Event. This is a signature occasion to honor those who have supported and led us—let’s show up in force and fill the room with gratitude and Brotherly Love. Lunch will be served at 11:00 a.m. with the program to follow.
Next, on Monday, October 20, 2025, Sugar Land Lodge will proudly host R∴W∴ Chris Choat’s final Official Visit as he travels the breadth of District 108. Let us give him a full house and a warm reception for his final visit. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting at 7:30 p.m.
Finally, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the MWSA will hold the Master Mason’s Rededication as the Fall Briscoe Workshop at Rosenberg Lodge—a powerful evening of renewal for every Brother. I cannot stress enough the value of this experience; please make every effort to attend. The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. with dinner served beforehand.
Two more requests: kindly record your charitable works on the spreadsheet that I will be placing on the Secretary's desk. These entries help Rosenberg Lodge maintain our property tax exemption, and every act of service—great or small—truly counts.
And lastly, our food drive has been extended to the October 21, 2025 Stated Meeting. If you would like to make a donation of non-perishable food items, please do so by that time.

Since its inception in 1990, Rosenberg Lodge #881 has honored 16 Brothers with the Golden Trowel Award. The first recipient was Brother Frank W. Dedek, Jr. in 1992.
Frank W. Dedek, Jr. PM
Having served in the Navy during WWII, Brother Dedek was Raised at Rosenberg Lodge #881 in 1946 at the tender age of 23. Young in years, but mature beyond them, he then attended the University of Texas and graduated with a degree from their pharmacy school. He put that knowledge to work in Rosenberg through his own business, Frank’s Pharmacy.
Beginning in 1956, he would serve our lodge in many offices. First as Treasurer for five years. He was then Junior Warden, Senior Warden, and finally, as a 20-year Mason, he would serve as our Worshipful Master in the 1963-1964 Masonic Year.
Like most Golden Trowel recipients, he continued to serve the lodge after he left the East. A member of First Baptist Church, Frank was Chaplain in ’64 and ’65 before serving two years as Lodge Secretary. He finished his service as an officer of the lodge in 1972, returning to the office Chaplain. Though he would not hold another office in the lodge, he remained a fixture of Ft Bend Masonry. He was Thrice Illustrious Master of Richmond Council No. 383 in 1977, High Priest of Richmond Chapter No. 467 in 1978.
He had been a Mason for 46 years when, in 1992 - the same year that he received the Trowel - he served the Grand Lodge of Texas as DDGM for Texas Masonic District #108. 1992 was a busy year for Brother Dedek, as he also served as Commander of Fort Bend Commandery No. 74.
Yes, Brother Dedek was a 46-year Mason by the time he received the Golden Trowel Award. However, I suspect that he would have received it much earlier in his Masonic career had the Award been around to give.
